Subtitle: Attack of the nurses.

Surface: Moleskine A4 notebook.
Pen: Pilot/Namiki Vanishing Point, fine nib.

Debit: Hey, Molly! What a weird turn of event, now that I get to witness an entire company of nurses charging like hell while wielding syringe launchers.

Molly: You did not think we can pull off something as ridiculous as this?

Vickie: For once, I feel relieved. I do not have to haul around such an unwieldy device from the bowels of hell.

Molly: You mean ... these syringe launchers?

Vickie: Yes.

Molly: I wish the Devil accepts our company credit cards, or even offers credit terms. Who knows? He might even have SLBMs (syringe-launched ballistic missiles) on sale!

Vickie: I would rather charge my credit card for a jug of booze from the Devil, then drink it until I pass out.

Molly: That would be very silly of you. But a very interesting thought, since I have never seen you drunk in my life. Hahahahaha!

Vickie: Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ...

Molly: Well, let's get going. If everything works out as planned, the MP boys should arrive in time for the mop-up.

Vickie: That is, if we can get to Roughwallop before he realizes what kind of predicament he is in.

Molly: Exactly. Now, the difference-maker is how well our asses can carry us. Girls, do not stop and keep moving!

Overall:

1. Another split-scenes: The MPs on the top, and the nurses on the bottom. This half-and-half arrangement has been my preferred means of depicting actions taking place simultaneously but separated by a distance.

2. The nurses are conducting an assault, while the MPs are just about to get onto the wheels. This is my way of showing that the nurses are already in action, while the MPs have some catching up to do.

3. 8 April 2013: Replaced the image file. There was a small white dot located towards the bottom right corner which must have been due to dirty scanner glass. (Although I wiped it with some Windex earlier.)

******

First panel:

1. Once he has received Molly's order, the commander immediately gets his men ready for deployment. He is wearing a headphone, something you would expect from soldiers assigned to armored vehicles. He is wearing something around his neck, which is a throat microphone. This is necessary; otherwise, a regular microphone also picks up noises and vibrations originating from the vehicle's machinery, thereby interfering with vocal communication.

2. The commander is aboard an armored car, while there is a large vehicle which resembles a bus right behind it. This 'bus' will have its use after a few pages forward ... hehe.

3. Some of the MP soldiers are armed with submachineguns. I did not use a reference for them; I merely threw in 'generic' submachineguns, based on the appearance of most submachineguns in existence. For example, compared to a full rifle or an assault rifle, submachineguns typically have shorter barrels and they use narrower magazines due to the fact that they use less powerful pistol cartridges.

Second panel:

1. Oh my! The nurses are charging like hell while wielding syringe launchers. Attack of the nurses, indeed.

2. Time for some more pranks! I took advantage of the sprinting nurses as an excuse to raise their skirts. Two of them are even showing little bits of their undies. Unintentional upskirt scene right in this panel ... hahahaha.

3. The stitching lines were added to the back side of the nurses' stockings. I kind of wanted them to look a bit old-fashioned. But because they were added almost at the end and as an afterthought, they feel a bit too thick or harsh. Oh, well.

4. Two nurses situated toward the right half of the foreground show the heels and the soles of their boots. Upon closer look, they have toe cleats, hobnails, and heel irons. This is another way of incorporating anachronism into my comics. If you have watched World War II documentaries, you may have noticed that the German soldiers wore boots with leather soles and heels with toe cleats, hobnails, and heel irons nailed in. Back then, rubber was a scarce commodity and whatever rubber available were mostly allocated to industrial goods and transports, not footwear. The toe cleats, the hobnails, and the heel irons were used, not because they looked cool, but to save the leather soles and the leather heels. It was much easier and less expensive to replace the worn out iron pieces.

5. Stippling was used to render the background: The ground, the incline and the stairs, the huge stack of boxes on the left, plus the large cylindrical beam on the right. While stippling eats up the clock like crazy, this is one way of filling out the background when there is lack of detailed plans. Upon closer look, I used a series of triangular patterns as the framework, then filled in gradients of stippling to provide shading and depth.
